Coasting

Dropbox can't return folder size. Why? I'm guess either 1) coasting and cashing the checks; or 2) intentionally blocking this capability so one can't easily hunt down large files that are pushing one past the free account limit. I pay for actively improved, cool software. That is not the definition of Dropbox. I will be moving all my files to my own cloud soon. Screw Dropbox and their incessant upgrade messages with no trade off in UX improvement. Hate to see pioneers become statues covered in bird ***.

Dropbox Disaster !!

I have had a dropbox account for over 6 years and have paid £ 7.99 every month. Recently a business that I was going to work with set up trial account sent me an invitation to be a member of the business team. I thought it was a normal invitation and when I pressed the button, all my files appeared to be shown as a part of the said business Folder. Wrote to dropbox and heard nothing. The business concerned cancelled the account and I got an email from dropbox saying that my account and files in dropbox had been all deleted and that I should contact the business administrator. He could not do anything also he has lost the account also. I wrote to dropbox and never heard from them !! All the files were needed for my livelyhood and lost several clients !! and major loss in income DROPBOX IS AN IRRESPONSIBLE ORGANISATION !!!

Does Dropbox have customer service?

I have been attempting to find out why Dropbox have blocked my account since Christmas, I have filled out there online form every week and, I seem to not be able to get any answers from them. Does any one have a working phone number for them ? So that I can talk to a human. And does anyone know of a working alternative to them that I can move to once they finally allow me access to my photos. This has gone beyond a joke now, I require the photos for my work.

Hi, i paid £7.99 twice to extend my acvount space. I did not agree to to pay £7.99 every single month. You are illegaly stealing money from me. I am blocking it tomorrow, going to my bank to block you. I am very angry that you did this. I trusted your company, thought you were all above board, not a bunch of rip off merchants. I am disable, mature in age. Poor person, so £8 pmis alot to me. You owe me an apology. . I have bank statemen4s. I could go to the police, but i am starting with this complain. Customer service what a joke

On January 1st Dropbox blocked my account and they deny that fact, the customer service is standard for a large company who think they can bulldozer over the small person, a just will not reply to emails or phone calls! But they do want me to give them £100.00 to allow me access. I have asked for my account yo be unblocked so that I can leave them yo go to another provider, what a supprise I've had no answer !

How is it legal for Dropbox to keep my automatically renewed annual fee when I canceled it shortly after it renewed bc I wasn't using the device anymore and didn't realize it would automatically renew? So basically they are keeping the money for an unused product....

I wish I would have read this blog before I ever tried Dropbox.

Their website has many more layers than necessary to determine what types of plans are available and the cost of each plan. I feel their practices are deceptive, their customer service is extremely poor compared to most other websites I have dealt with. You can't talk with a supervisor and the customer service rep I spoke with didn't know a USPS mailing address I could use to contact someone higher up. He referred me to an email address. I too am out $750 for a service I have no need for and can't afford. I was totally duped by the popup box that came up when I was trying to use iStock Photo. BIG lesson learned.

I run my entire business off Dropbox, and have always loved it. I cannot count how many people i have influenced to buy Dropbox. However every time i open i now have one extra step to go through. I HATE "Recent" as my default Dropbox folder. They just randomly changed this and there is no option to change it back!! THIS SUCKS!!!!! If your going to change basic functions that YOU think make it better then great! Just at least give the option to change it back in case your thinking does no align with your clients. PLEASE give US the option to choose what WE want our default folder to be!!! SOONER THE BETTER!! AFTER 7 YEARS WITH DROPBOX IM ALREADY THINKING OF CHANGING TO ANOTHER SERVICE IM SO PISSED.

Unethical Buisness Practices

Signed up for DROPBOX Business Account trial for 30 days on day 21 sent a request to cancel trial to avoid being billed $70.00. Did not like there user interface so i was unhappy as it was very complicated format for small business users. Had been contacted after the billing had already gone through and was told per policy and terms no refund could be given. *** i requested for the trial to be canceled prior to the end of the term. Because they took almost 2 weeks to do so. I feel that this is very unethical..

DO NOT APPROVE RECURING PAYMENTS AT DROPBOX

DropBox uses an outdated system of Pre-Approving charges for 7 days and then billing you the SAME DAY to tie up DOUBLE your money for a week or more depending on your bank. The only possible explanation for this is the result of a weak financial status and is required so they can inflate there Cash on Hand because of confirmations. So, If you agree to the terms of service you will be billed double every time your service renews and hopefully get access your half of the Money after the 7 day hold. I am cancelling my five personal accounts because they are holding $500 dollars hostage for aleast week. However it shows up as a charge on my account not a pre-approval with different references. I hope to get my money back. But it will be the last money they get from me. I will be working on plan so that non of my 300 clients we be sending anymore money to DropBox. Good Luck! Doing business with these amateurs, no one else in cloud storage does this BS but DropBox and have we used all of them.

Resolved: Dropbox Sync Issues

I have been a Dropbox user for many years and am currently a paid up Pro member. I can report with 100% certainty that Dropbox has had issues with syncing for several months now. The specific problem I continue to experience is when I rename a folder inside of Dropbox. Dropbox will then create another 'empty folder' with the original file name shortly afterwards. Some time it takes hours - but nonetheless it happens all the time. The most frustrating part of dealing with Dropbox is that there is no direct support, that I am aware of, not even for Pro users!!! - you can only raise an issue on a forum and then hope that someone sees it - like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I remain disappointed in Dropbox support.

I signed up with dropbox and started with the 9.99 a month plan and then I changed it to the basic "free" service instead but low and behold, they are still charging me 9.99. There are "live" people to talk to. It's just a terrible company to deal with. I need to get my bank to dispute the charge now and get a different bank card because of this. I emailed there "customer support" twice and they have not responded. If they think you are going to upgrade, then they will allow a chat session but any other communications are through emailing them.

"Updating" constantly by downloading every photo and graphic on my computer and phone

I had been using DB for probably 3 years, very seldom did I load anything new and suddenly I began getting emails advising me that I was out of space and needed to buy more. I went on and saw that I had like six or more copies of literally everything including screenshots from my phone and software icons from my desktop. I tried to delete files but it was prevented until I bought more space. OK, so I bought more space and deleted duplicate files only to find DB promptly reloaded everything plus bonus copies of everything else. When I contacted "support" they sent me back a response informing me that it was up to me to prevent this from happening. I said that I had, from day one, specified "don't download anything without asking me" but they said that was only for new photos and files. They then provided six 'simple' steps I could use to rectify the problem adding "repeat on each computer used" - in my case 4. No thanks. I will pay more for a program that is easier to manage and has better customer service.

No Customer Service

I paid $75 for Dropbox Business and couldn't get a phone call returned. If you expect to have a customer service department with this company, then you're sadly wrong and are getting RIPPED OFF. No refunds either. Read their disclaimer that says they will issue no refunds "unless required by law." Their internet presence makes the company appear to be a mainstream business, but you will quickly find that this business is just a marketing "shell" without any real substance. If I had taken the time to read the many reviews posted on Amazon and other consumer sites, I would have known that I too would get SCAMMED. You have been warned.
